Rescue of Médiatis Région Aquitaine
The technical team of Médiatis Région Aquitaine left yesterday at 7 pm (French time) Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, aboard "Iron Bull". It is a 2400 horsepower tug boat, 34 m of length on 10 m of width. It is equipped with a zodiac and with a crane to facilitate the operations.
Positioned in 500 miles from Las Palmas, Médiatis Région Aquitaine always derives in very small speed (0.25 knots). The technical team will need approximately 48 hours to arrive on zone at an average speed of 10 knots.
Then the delicate operations will begin with the recovery of masts and sails, and the reversal of the boat.
Yves Parlier, him, should arrive this evening at Tarragone, 200 km from Barcelona, and should take an exam of health, before his return in France.
